In Mancera Fig Me Up, the fig shows up two ways, as a crisp leaf and as sticky, ripe nectar. The fruity opening slowly warms on the skin and finally lands on toffee and tobacco.
How it smells
Rhubarb gives a sour nip first, and French violet adds a powdery tone of old writing paper. Soon plum brings depth and Bourbon geranium a floral edge, while agarwood (oud) moves quietly in the background. Australian sandalwood keeps the sweetness from going stale and holds the heart upright. By evening only tonka bean and white musk remain, a calm, faintly smoky trail.
It brings to mind a market stall with dried fruit on the counter and the vendor smoking a pipe a little way off.
