At the heart of Creed Original Santal is creamy sandalwood, its edges sanded smooth by lavender and tonka bean. On the skin, this woody, spicy fragrance feels like a wool sweater on a fall day.
How it smells
Juniper berries and rosemary first bring a pine forest to mind, ginger and coriander prickle a little, and mandarin orange adds some juice. As the herbs fade, the focus shifts to the heart. Orange blossom lights it faintly, and geranium weaves in a green thread. In the afternoon, cedar and a hint of oakmoss come up from below.
The wood stays rounded to the end, and the warmth never turns sugary. Up close you can pick out a musk with the clean smell of freshly washed linen. Through the cooler months it feels especially homey.
